Claudia speaks the final words of the time travel spell before turning to give her friends hugs. Her boyfriend, Alex, and her mother are traveling back to where it all began to try to stop the original reincarnation and stop the enemy, determined to destroy her family.
Alex is still trying to wrap his mind around what is happening. Traveling from the 1920s to 1649, he still feels the impossibility of it all even though he experienced the same otherworldness searching for Claudia and her friends when they had disappeared into thin air from a ship.
But the danger isn't just limited to traveling to another time period, where only Marie is truly aware of the language and traditions, but having to avoid her past self and those who may recognize her.
They have traveled through time to try to save Anna and stop the reincarnation cycle that began it all and stop the man that is determined to destroy everyone in his way, present and future.
I loved this story! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. You must read book one in this series to get a full understanding of why they have traveled back in time.
This story is told in multiple POVS. Claudia, Alex, Marie and a fictional historical Oliver Cromwell and his Siege of Drogheda. Marie is trying to save her sister, Elizabeth, who died in her husband's determination to conquer the Irish. In a twist, Oliver is also reincarnated and despite his great love of Elizabeth, his greed is a forever loop in her death.
This story is action-packed and full of danger. This historical twist is very interesting and will keep you turning the pages. What can you change in the past that won't make cause further harm to history? Highly recommend.
