Moving back to Pinecrest had never been in her plans but she was laid off from her job in Boise and after months of unsuccessful job hunting she jumped at the chance to work in a small-town newspaper in the neighboring town of Tilikum. It would only be temporary after all.
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. We are finally meeting the Haven brothers! Annika found her HEA with the last of the Bailey brothers ending a feud between the Baileys and Havens for generations. And grumpy, broody Josiah is the perfect start to this series.
This book is different in that there is a third POV - no this is not a menage - and it definitely adds an unexpected twist to the previous books I've read by Claire Kingsley giving a deeper depth to the danger and suspense in this story.
This book is action-packed and full of menacing danger that not only endangers Audrey, but that will be a huge spoiler. There are huge twists and turns and major betrayals that are life-threatening.
You will be happy to be reunited with some of Tilikum's favorite characters and saddened with certain events, but what an amazing start to the Haven brothers as we meet the family and especially Aunt Louise who I am sure is going to play a major part in these brother's stories.
Highly recommend and can't wait for the next book in the series!
