Jane was rounding the last curve of the track field, determined to beat the girl just ahead of her. She knew she could get the win this time...
Voices telling her that she was okay and not to move. That she had fainted before crossing the finish line. An inherited blood disorder and the only surgeon familiar with the disease lived in Chicago.
When she meets a scientist specializing in DNA sequencing years later she thought of all people he would understand why she chose not to have children. But, he made it clear that he wanted children.
This book is very well written and is told in both Jane's and Peter's POV. There is insecure and then there is Peter. Not only insecure, but beyond selfish. I truly found nothing redeeming about his character.
