Everyone thinks that Nia's mother's death was an accident, but Nia knows the awful truth. Because Nia was there when it happened. She also knows the reason her mother was murdered. I loved this story! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Although this book has it's own HEA this series is intended to be read in order as it revolves around the Kincaids and their goal to get vengence against Toni Carcetti.
Nia had always been her father's favorite until he found out the truth... that not only was he not her father, but that her mother had had multiple affairs. Now he planned to marry her to an old mob boss in Italy to solve his problems with the Kincaids who were calling in his debt.
Even though his nephew, Mason, ran their billion-dollar family business keeping them on the right side of the law, Jake was the patriarch of the Kincaid family. Watching his nephew Leo standing at the altar with a grin on his face he knew that he was the only one who could do what needed to be done to avenge his brother's murder and protect their family.
This book is action-packed, full of danger and smoking hot. Jake is in his late thirties with no intention to ever get involved, but that all changed after he kidnapped Nia. Now he only wants to protect her - not only from her father but from his family. Jake's dry-witted inner comments are hilarious and give you a rounded image of his personality.
I can't wait to see what this author has planned for Roman and Luke. Highly recommend this series!
