REVIEW - SIDELINERS by Dana Claire

Pottsville, Texas is divided into two types of people. Those who work two jobs and those who own two houses. The only thing that brings the haves, the Sammies, and the have-nots, the Willies, together is Friday night football at Pottsville High.

But even that is divided. Willies had to stand on the sidelines as they watched the Sammies lose again. They haven't had a winning season since Freshman year, but for every early morning practice, Reed and his gang were on the sidelines.

That was until he was leaving and a football came out of nowhere hitting the back of his head. He knew immediately he had made a mistake as he angrily threw a 60-yard spiral landing perfectly into the receiver's arms. Willies weren't allowed on the team, but more importantly, he had made a pact that he would never play on the Pottsville Pirate's team.

Some things were more important than his dream of playing football.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is the first time reading anything by Dana Claire that wasn't a fantasy paranormal story. Wow! I hope she writes more reality-based stories as this was an amazing read.

This sports romance is action-packed and full of drama of town dynamics resulting in a total divide. No one crossed the line. Ever.

Savannah's father was the football coach and she was outraged when he offered Reed the quarterback position forcing her into a pact to rejoin the cheerleading squad. But the more she spends time with Reed the more she is confused. Until secrets start to explode.

Reed is holding secrets that he promised his mother on her death-bed that he would protect. Even if it means losing the one person he really wants. This book is full of angst, rivals, secrets and wow, the twist.

Highly recommend!
