Diego touched the photo on the desk. Everyone in the photo was smiling and dressed to perfection. Except the wife. She was the only one not smiling. Despite his mission, she intrigued him. Why wasn't she smiling? There was nothing special about her. She was almost plain-looking, but he couldn't look away.
Setting up the last of his hidden cameras, he left without a trace. The cartel wanted to know what the lawyer was hiding, and it was his job to supply them with the blackmail material they needed. But looking at the massive home and the family photos, he wasn't looking forward to watching the life of a boring family.
But there was something about the blank look on her face that kept bugging him.
I loved this story! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Diego is an assassin for the mafia. Hannah is the wife of a successful attorney. But not everything is as it seems in the life of this perfect family.
This book is action-packed from start to finish. This is a dark mafia romance and there may be some triggers for those who don't read this genre. Diego is no one's hero. He is an assassin and a voyeur with dark appetites, but he is the perfect person to save Hannah.
This is the first time I have read anything by this author, but I look forward to reading more in the future. Highly recommend!
