Sandro is summoned to Chicago to meet with the Don of their organization. Although he was Luca's right-hand man, because his mother wasn't Italian, Sandro was never considered for promotion.
But when the Don tells him that he is giving him Las Vegas since Luca is staying in Chicago, he should have known there was a catch. He would only be the boss if he married Carlos's youngest daughter, Carina.
Carina is furious when a patch of light catches her eyes and realizes that her 'boyfriend' had a webcam and the light was recording. So much for feeling lucky to have a caring guy. He doesn't realize that he has messed with the wrong girl.
With a last kick at his ribs, she grabs her belongings and heads for the door. She should have learned by now, being the bastard daughter of a Don, that no man could be trusted.
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Carina has always hidden behind her cosplay persona, but Sandro is determined to see beyond the makeup. But his jealous sister, Bianca, will do anything to keep them apart.
This mafia romance is action-packed, full of danger and smoking hot. Neither are happy with getting married and Bianca's lies don't help their trust of each other. If you love dark mafia romance with plenty of angst, you will love this book! Highly recommend!
