It was 1499, and France was at war with Italy. Isabeau's husband has been gone for three months, but not to fight the war, but to find the perfect subject.
Because François was an artist renowned for his art. He married her only to have access to her family to afford his costly brushes and charcoals. She always dreaded his return, as his moods were volatile; she never knew what to expect.
When she saw him returning dragging a large dog behind him she was dismayed that there would be another animal for her to tend when his interest waned.
But, her dismay turns to horror when she realizes the dog being led by her husband on a chain was in truth a man.
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This book was totally unexpected with surprising twists.
This book is action-packed, dark and twisted fantasy romance as you see that François will stop at nothing for his perfect subject. Highly enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing more by this author.
