REVIEW - RULES FOR THE SUMMER by Meghan Quinn

Renley and her Aunt Kitty are anxiously waiting for the mayor to announce the winning name for the new owner of Rudder's Sweets. Rudder's Sweets, throughout their town's history, has left the candy store to the town upon the owner's death and then put it in a lottery.

Renley wanted so badly to restore the store and relive the only happy memories she had of her dad. When the mayor calls out her name, she is in shock. But, the biggest shock comes when she finds out that the twenty thousand dollars her Aunt told the town they were using for improvements... didn't exist.

She has to have the store renovated and open for business in three months with no money. After drinking way too much of her aunt's homemade wine, they go online to find a financier. Almost immediately the get responses. Her aunt tells her not to worry about anything and hits "accept".

Renley wakes up with a huge hangover and a note to expect the man financing their store within the hour. Only when Renley opens the door, she finds a gorgeous Englishman on one knee, proposing... marriage.

She had drunkenly stumbled on a site looking for a FIANCE and not a FIANCIER. She is going to kill her aunt after she gets rid of the crazy man.

I laughed so hard! This book is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable.

A drunken online search and a drunken game of Truth or Dare. What could go wrong? Renley wants to not be seen as a loser by the town and is desperate to open Rudder's Sweets and prove them wrong. But her easily distracted aunt is no help and seems to be making matters worse.

Theo makes a drunken dare with his friend, Rupert, only to wake up the next day to find out he was on a site looking for a fiancé. Instead of telling his dad it wasn't him, he decides to escape his family's expectations and heads to Massachusetts to gain a bride.

This book is hilarious from cover to cover, beginning with drunken behavior. Aunt Kitty and her hobby, Rupert and his crazy ideas and Theo's determination will have you turning the pages of this rom-com.

If you are looking for a laugh, prepare yourself because Theo has no problem making a fool of himself to gain what he wants. Highly recommend!
