Jamie MacNamara approached the back door of his daughter's business Happy Housekeepers, when he noticed the door ajar and when he entered a young man flew out the front door before he could see who it was.
But a break-in wasn't the worst thing as he saw a body on the other side of the counter lying in a massive amount of blood.
When the attractive detective arrived his interest was pigued. When her son was apprehended as the murder suspect he was determined to keep the feisty detective in line when she balked at being removed from the case.
I loved this book. It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. The characters in this book are recurring but it is not necessary to read them in order as this story has its own HEA.
Jamie is a widower that never thought to find anyone who held a candle to his wife until he met the divorced detective who brought out both his protective and dominant instincts.
This story is action-packed and full of danger and suspense as they try to protect Paulie's son. There are several twists to this story with a surprising villian. Highly recommend.
