REVIEW - DRAGON OF DENMARK by Jennifer Ivy Walker

Ylva is trapped in a huge oak tree, praying to escape the attention of the three men determined to find her. Finally, the hunters turn back to the village, fearing to enter further into the enchanted woods.

But she feels that they will soon overcome their fear and she won't be able to fight them off. The only thing keeping them from further taunts and abuse are because they things she's a witch - able to cast an evil spell on them.

Richard the Fearless had conquered the village and taken her mother, a Breton priestess, as his concubine and claimed her as his wife under Viking pagan laws. She was showered in love and riches until her father put them aside when she was ten to marry another in the Catholic Church.

Leaving both of them shamed and unprotected from the villagers' hatred. Without her skills as a Celtic Priestess and her knowledge of healing herbs and the wool she provides from her beloved herd of sheep, there would be no escape from the physical abuse they could inflict.

It had been ten years since her father had walked away without any contact. But as she approaches her home she sees him standing above waiting for her. Her father, the Duke of Normandy, had returned for her.

To marry off his illegitimate daughter for political gain. To the most feared warrior, the son of the King of Normandy.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Neither Ylva nor Skårde wanted this marriage that their fathers had planned to strengthen their alliance.

This book is action-packed, full of danger and Viking violence and smoking hot. If you love books with a mystical flair you will love this Viking romance. I fell in love with Jennifer Ivy Walker's writing style with The Wild Rose and the Sea Raven trilogy, but think this is my favorite yet.

It is full of political intrigue, evil intent and treachery that will keep you turning the pages as an enemy tries to destroy the alliance and kill everyone in sight.

If you like Viking romance you will love this book! Highly recommend!

The DRAGON OF DENMARK is book one of the VALIANT VIKINGS series!
