Jules's life is a disaster. She is doing the final touches on her makeup as a stand-in as a Sugar Plum Fairy to fill in for one of her dancers who she called in sick; no hot water this morning in her apartment; the downstairs studio sink isn't working; her mother trying to set her up on dates forever showing her disappointment that Jules wants to support herself; her studio renovations were supposed to be completed last month.
And then fills a splat of water on her forehead. She looks up in horror as the ceiling collapses under the weight of water, as she and her assistant try to get the young girls out of the building to safety.
Now she is standing outdoors in the freezing December weather in her tutu, surrounded by police and firemen. Her water main had burst and the inspector said it wasn't safe to return. She lived above her dance studio - where was she going to stay until the building was safe again?
As if her life didn't have enough catastrophes, she looks up from the girl who is attached to her legs, yelling to her dad that her Santa wish had come true. Santa found her real-life Ashlyn doll.
Jules looks up, horrified, into the eyes of the last person she hoped to ever see again. The man she fell in love with last New Year's Eve... only to turn down the grocery store aisle a day later to find out he was a cheating bastard. Evidently, the father of the girl wrapped around her legs, babbling about her being her Santa's wish coming to life, with his beautiful wife just steps behind him.
Will this nightmare ever end?
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This second-chance romance is full of misunderstandings and calamities. If you are looking for a laugh-out-loud rom-com with a bit of mischief thrown in look no further.
This book is action-packed and full of chemistry. I absolutely loved the characters and can't wait to read her best friend Ava's story!
