REVIEW - THE BREAKING by Mave Hathaway

The gods Tiva and Oxius had called a meeting of all the gods within the Void, their neutral grounds between realms. Only afterward did they realize it had been a trap where they could no longer shift shift to the Mortal Realm. They had been tricked and trapped within the Void.

Queen Hesper woke from a vision of horror of her daughters' futures. Her daughter, Aurelia, had been wearing the crown showing her marriage to the Palion prince, which didn’t make sense he was betrothed to her oldest daughter Cerial.

The vision foretold that her youngest would inherit the Drakore throne. And her oldest would be held prisoner and tortured. She woke with a scream realizing she had work to do so she could change the fates of horror the dreams had foretold about her children and the future of their realm.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This book will take you on a wild ride through gods and royal intrigue and treachery. Dragons and magic.

This book is told in multiple POV, although Aurelia is the main focus of this book. This story cannot be read as a standalone as the story continues. This book is action-packed, and full of torture and treachery. Aurelia finds out that there is no one she can trust as she tries to escape the tortures ahead.

Highly recommend!
