Nine years ago, when Jupiter Jones was twelve, she became a stalker which was never her original intent. She had planned to share news that would devastate the Thorne family.
Her parents had a massive fight when she was younger and despite his promises her father saw her after leaving them after the divorce. Now Jupiter is desperate to protect her sister and is hoping the Thorne’s will be the savior she needs. Even though the secret she holds would destroy them.
She was moving out of the house and away from the monster that her mother had married after divorcing her dad. For years she has hidden behind her bedroom door holding a bat as she hears her stepfather linger outside her door panting heavily. Living in terror that he would finally turn the knob.
But when she overhears the fight they are having about moving back to Bardstown she realizes the reason he doesn’t want to move there. His secret may be her escape route and protection for her sister.
But instead of delivering her news to the Thorne family, when she saw the twins through the curtain windows she couldn’t do it. She was mesmerized at the sight of Shepard and his twin fighting. Even with two brothers and a sister, his loneliness reaches out to her.
So instead of hoping to garner their help she secretly observed Shepard whenever she could.
But secrets have a way of coming out. And when Shepard finds out her truths he is furious. It had never been her intent to infiltrate the family and become his sister’s best friend. And now she may lose the only place she truly felt at home.
I love this forbidden dark romance. It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Jupiter wants to escape an abusive stepfather and hopes that the Thornes will offer that security. Shepard is a soccer god with his own secrets.
This book is action-packed, full of twists, danger, and heartbreak. I loved it so much that I immediately purchased Ledger and Stellan’s stories. I can’t wait to read more about this complete family and how their broken pasts begin to heal when they find the other part of their heart. Highly recommend!
