Today she was extra frustrated as her father had just announced he was hosting the Summer Solstice Tournament. The winner would receive her hand in marriage.
She was livid as she was destined to ride as a Valkyrie, not a wife. So she made her father a deal. She would marry the champion only if he won against her in single combat.
I absolutely loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Sigurd is determined to make the man who murdered his father pay. Gaining the honor being a Sea Wolf and winning the Summer Solstice Tournament are bringing him closer to his goal. But the ultimate prize is the hand of Brynhildr, the King's daughter.
This book is action-packed and full of danger from page one. Jennifer Ivy Walker's writing is very descriptive and you not only see, but feel the pain and struggle as Sigurd climbs the steep Nordic cliff, fighting for his life. If you love Viking romance, you will love this steamy story full of Nordic folklore and treachery.
Highly recommend! This has to be my favorite of Jennifer's books to date! Can't wait for the next book in the series.
