REVIEW - RECIPES TO RICHES by Matilda Bradberry

Sage has come home to Vermont for the holidays to spend time with her mother and aunt. Birds of a Feather Bed & Breakfast was owned by the sisters and Sage was overwhelmed when she walked in the door at the amount of Christmas decorations. Her aunt had gone overboard on decorating.

Her mother, Wren, and Aunt Birdie had found a large sealed envelope addressed ‘For Sage Only’ when they were going through a trunk in the attic. They were all curious about what her grandmother had left her and why it was hidden in the attic.

Upon opening the envelope they found her grandmother’s recipes cards which they had been hunting for since her passing the year before. There was also a note with ten recipes cards. Cards with clues to the ingredients.

Her grandmother’s gift to her was a scavenger hunt. The first card led her to the library and Mrs. Henderson, the librarian said she knew just the man who help her solve the puzzle.

Dominic Stone, who ran the artisan bakery. Mrs. Henderson was sure they would have a lot in common since they were both bakers. What she found when she walked into his bakery was a grumpy man who anyone could bake a cupcake, but bread was a science. It was only when she mentioned her grandmother’s name that he looked at the cards she held before him.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Sage and Dom followed her grandmother’s clues and which led them throughout the small town with surprising insights into her grandmother’s life that none of her family had been aware of.

It wasn’t until the final card that Sage realized all that her grandmother had done and the inheritance left to her.

This angsty romance is full of mystery and suspense and will keep you laughing as Sage and Dom go through the clues. You will fall in love with this small town and Sage’s mother and aunt’s matchmaking efforts. Highly recommend!
