Killian is stalking his target when he receives a call from his brother, Gris, who is upset that Killian hasn't already gotten rid of their target. Instead, Killian watches as Preston digs his own grave since he is making deals with the Russians.
From his vantage point, he can see that the Russians' patience is thinning as the information Preston is providing about the Kincaid family proves he isn't what they were looking for. As much as Killian enjoys the kill, finding out the Russians are planning is more interesting, with the bonus that they are going to kill Preston themselves.
Preston thought he would gain entry into the Kincaid empire by marrying Arabella Kincaid, but when his brother Gris foiled that plan by marrying her himself, Preston attached Arabella and Gris was determined he wouldn't live to see another day.
As Killian sits in a dark corner of the club watching Preston and the Russians, he also keeps an eye on the waitress Chloe. She has become his new obsession.
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is the first book in a spin-off series from the Lords of Las Vegas. Although not necessary, I recommend you read the Lores of Las Vegas series as Gris and his brothers are introduced there and it will give you background information of all the recurring characters.
Killian is the family enforcer. Even his family thinks he is a psycho who only gets joy from killing. Until he sets eyes on Chloe. Chloe hides most of her earnings, knowing that she is going to be robbed before she enters her apartment. It is easier just to hand over the small amount in her pocket each night.
Until Killian steps in and threatens the kids who is robbing her. But, in order for him to give her the money back, he has his own depraved demands.
This book is action-packed and full of mafia danger. Killian is everything you would expect from a depraved enforcer, but even more psychotic than you could imagine. He always felt disconnected from his family, until Chloe entered his life.
If you love morally gray mafia antiheros, you will love absolutely fall in love with Killian. I absolutely love his brothers' response when they learn about Chloe. This book is smoking hot and, despite being a mafia romance, is absolutely hilarious at times. Highly recommend!
