Stepping out of the helicopter that had landed on top of Kincaid Towers, with his cousin Luke behind him, Roman Kincaid wanted the day to be over with.
Luke is trying to return all the missed calls from the building inspector, architect, and the construction foreman on the property they are trying to purchase. Along with Luke, his brothers and uncle, they are the five owners of a successful real estate empire in Vegas and use any means to stay on top, even if it means getting their hands dirty.
Their latest problem is securing a property they need for a venting system for the underground tunnel they have designed to connect all their casinos. Since they are still filled with adrenaline from disposing of the torched car riddled with bullet holes.
He keeps watch as his cousin scales the walls to see what is so important that the owner refuses to sell the property. When Luke returns, his face is shows his confusion over finding injured birds and squirrels. Doesn't she know that this billion-dollar sale could build her a larger place to save her strays?
Maddie couldn't wait to arrive home. She was set up on a date and figured if nothing else she would have a nice meal. What she didn't expect was a double date with his brother. She hoped to never see the Vendettis after this.
What she didn't expect was to be led to her door after she heard his brother shooting at someone. After hearing the brothers tear off in their car, she tentatively stepped outside when she heard the groan of pain. Never had her blindness hit her as hard, but she couldn't leave the injured man to die.
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This book has recurring characters and events and although has its own HEA, I recommend you read the books in order.
Maddie is determined to keep possession of the home that is the last thing she has of her grandmother, but the Kincaids are determined that she sell. Roman knows this property is the only thing keeping their project going forward, but when he sees their way in - he hesitates.
This mafia romance is action-packed and spicy hot. When Maddie finds out Roman's deception she is outraged and heartbroken. The one man she trusted turned out to be the one trying to get her property.
If you love morally gray men who will do anything to protect the one they love, you will love this series. Highly recommend.
