REVIEW - RUTHLESS VOW by Brooke Summers

Lorenzo is in the family chapel to light a candle for his mother, who was murdered fifteen months ago. It is where he comes daily to have quiet and reflect. He looks at the candle that never goes out. His father has it watched, making sure a new wax and wick are replaced before the candle dies.

But it is for appearances only because his father hadn't loved their mother. It was the mafia life. His mother gave everything to the mafia and died for it.
The four families of the Syndicate sit around the large conference room table. The Harrington's were the fifth family until they decided they wanted more power and started a war. Anyone who was a threat or a leverage point was taken out.
Now they were trying to rebuild and past allies were now being questioned as trustworthy. Luckily, their father had warned he and his brothers before they arrived. Before they left the room, four alliances were made. Four marriages had been decided.
He saw how his siblings handled the grief of their mother dying and he is determined that his marriage will be for show only. Emotions make you weak.
I loved this book! It is very well written, and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is the first book in the series, and although it has its own HEA, the series is intended to be read in order, and I can't wait for the next book!
This book is action-packed from the start and boy does it have some major twists that take the story in a whole different direction. It is steamy hot and full of mafia violence. This is the first time I have read anything by Brooke Summers and I look forward to reading more. The emotional depth and the twists keep you turning the pages to see what is next!
If you like dark mafia romance, you will absolutely love this story! Highly recommend!
