Love in the Lyrics – Book 2
Releases November 13, 2026
I ordered a pack of twelve of my
favorite writing notebooks. No lines, forgiving paper with character, slightly
yellowed. And my favorite coffee in case the local grocery doesn’t stock it. I
left Nashville and had them sent straight here. At the time, that had seemed
like smart planning.
Apparently, smart planning is
about to make a woman climb a mountain carrying two boxes while expecting to
keep her balance in the snow.
I grab my coat and shove my feet
into my boots.
By the time I make it outside,
she's already halfway up the hill.
“Hey!”
Her head comes up. “I'll come to
you.” She keeps walking.
I start down toward her anyway,
immediately discovering that walking downhill through fresh snow is not one of
my many talents.
She stops. “Careful.”
“I've got it.”
My right foot slides.
My arms shoot out.
Somehow, I stay upright.
Barely.
When I look up, she's watching
me.
“Definitely looks like you've
got it,” she says, with a hint of laughter in her voice.
I grin.
Smart-ass.
I like her already.
We meet near a stand of pines,
and she holds out the boxes.
“Cabin Fourteen?”
“That's me.”
For one split second, I wait for
the other reaction.
The double take.
The widening eyes.
Oh my God. You're Hayes
Dieslich.
It doesn't come.
She just holds my package toward
me.
Interesting.
You all are going to love this
holiday romcom. I mean, he can make thousands of women scream his name. But the
smart-ass mail carrier couldn't pick him out of a line up even if he was
holding his country music awards.

He wrote his greatest love songs about her. Now he’s fighting for a second verse.
DELILAH
I
thought I buried my first love ten years ago. Then Diesel walks back into my
life—tattooed, famous, and still looking at me like I’m the only girl in the
room. I’m here to fix his career, not relive the summer that shattered my
heart. But one night reminds me how easily he breaks me… And the secret I’ve
been protecting could cost us everything.
DIESEL
I
became a rockstar to survive losing her. Every song, every stage, every
mistake—I built it all around the girl who got away. Now Delilah’s back,
standing in front of me like no time has passed… except it has. She’s hiding
something. I can feel it. And when the truth comes out, I don’t know if love
will save us—or destroy us.
Because
some love stories don’t end when you walk away… They wait until the music
brings you back.

My Muse was previously published as a short story on the Let's Get Naught
Anthology. It has been expanded by eleven chapters because the full story
needed to be told.
