Savina was looking out to sea with the bitter thought that it was her last taste of freedom. Her father, Apollo, and grandfather, Zeus, have chosen a stranger to be her husband and they were to be married in a fortnight and upon her eighteenth birthday she would bear the title Queen of the Isle of Cava. A title that her sister-in-law Eloise couldn't wait to hand over much preferring her past life as a pirate.
She is now sitting on the banks of the siren's island when a man approaches her. Conleth with eyes the color of fire. But despite his charm and the tingles that take over her body, she refuses to give him her name learning her lesson after Zeus killed the last person she gave it to before her eyes. But how is this gorgeous man on the siren's island and what agreement did he make with Queen Yemma.
The Duke of Eloqua decided to stop at the local pub before announcing his arrival at the castle to meet his future bride. Although he had no plans to go forward with the marriage. It was just a step closer to getting his revenge on Zeus. But his jaw drops in shock upon seeing the songbird from the siren's island shooting daggers at him as they both realize he is the one promised her hand.
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Although this book has its own HEA, I highly recommend that you read Savina's brother Rylander's story in War of the Seas. Both Rye and Lou have major parts in this story and knowing their backstory will help you understand Lou's disdain for her position as Queen.
This book is action-packed, full of danger and intrigue with a mix of Greek mythology and a dose of Alfred Hitchcock that will have you laughing. This story will keep you turning the pages as you follow all the twists and turns as Savina realizes her destiny and why Zeus was determined to keep her hidden.
Highly recommend.
