REVIEW - BEAST OF BISHOP'S LANDING by Amelia Wilde

Beast of Bishop's Landing is the complete Beauty and the Beast trilogy that includes Secret Beast, Hidden Beauty and Fallen Rose.

SECRET BEAST
Haley is on her way home from college and instead of heat, her car is shooting out snowflakes.  She doesn't know how she is going to get it repaired.  She's just a semester away from getting her degree in Literature and hopes her car holds out until she can graduate and get a job.

Haley Constantine has blonde hair and blue eyes, but that's where any similarities to the rest of the Constantines end.  She lives at home with her absent-minded inventor dad and brother Cash and is an embarrassment to their Aunt Caroline because their house is too small, they don't live in the affluent part of town, they don't have staff...they don't live up to the image of the Constantine name.

As she is coming in the door her father is leaving.  Excited that he has an investor for his breakthrough invention.  Then he drops the bomb...Leo Morelli is the investor.

Leo Morelli, The Beast of Bishop’s Landing, is the worse of all the Morellis.  He is a tall, dark-eyed devil who looks like he stepped out of a magazine, but he's not called the Beast for nothing, and she has to stop him!  Only she is too late to keep her father from signing the contract.

But she will make a trade.  One month of unlimited access to her body to release her father from his contract.

I absolutely loved this book!  It is very well written and the characters are fully developed.  Amelia Wilde's writing and descriptions drew me into the story immediately.  I could feel the cold.  I could feel the fear.  I could feel the rage.

Haley has never felt good enough.  She has always been made to feel inferior by her demanding aunt, but her determination to save her father and do anything in the process shows her strength.  She can't believe that she likes Leo's torment and actually craves it.

Leo has secrets.  Painful secrets.   And he will get his vengeance on the Constantines.  He deliberately went after the weak link in the family, but his plans have backfired on him.

This book is action-packed and full of danger and suspense.  The chemistry between Haley and Leo is smoking hot and despite his determination to be cruel and make Haley suffer, he does the most romantic thing possible for her.

I literally laughed out loud when he 'unpacked' her suitcase.  Hilarious!!!  This book has twists and turns and left me in tears at the end.  Major cliffhanger!

HIDDEN BEAUTY
He is in purgatory.  Everything is hot and his flesh is burning.  Only he's not dead.  He's not in hell.

Leo wakes up in a hospital room but it doesn't at first compute to him what his sister is wearing and why she looks different from when she rushed him to the hospital.  But then a vision appears behind her in the doorway and it all comes back to him.

He's not fourteen and dying from a blood infection from being beaten to the edge of life by Caroline Constantine.  No, it's years later, and after he finally got his vengeance giving her a taste of her own medicine she sent a hitman.

He had been shot.  He had been ready to die.  To end his life of pain.  It was all too much to bear after sending Haley away.  But, there she was between him and Ronan.

He rushes to her despite nurses trying to get him back into the bed to make sure she is unharmed.  He knows she will hate him for what he is about to do.  He will now keep her a prisoner to keep her safe.  Caroline will know she was there with him from Ronan and now she wasn't safe.

Just like book one, we have a cliffhanger, but this is one of betrayal.  This book is full of surprises and we see under the layers and layers of Leo's anger.  Begin to understand all the mental and physical pain of his life and why he is the Beast everyone knows him as.

But, Haley sees who he really is, and at first, that enrages him even more than his usual angry persona.  But, now he can't let her leave ever...she's the only thing that buffers the pain.

This book is full of suspense and the more you learn about Leo and what drives him you realize he does what he does to protect those who have been harmed, by his father and the Constantines.

The chemistry between Haley and Leo is raw and explicit.   He needs to see her tears, but she craves the pain.

If these two books have told me anything it's that Fallen Rose is going to be heartwrenching, but just like Haley, I can't seem to keep away.  Highly recommend!

FALLEN ROSE
Haley wakes up sluggish and to the knowledge that she's not in Leo's room.  Not in Leo's bed.  She is an elegantly appointed room and when she realizes where she's at fear grips her.  Because she knows where she's at now.  She's in Caroline's house.  And she knows that being in her aunt's house is the worse place she could be.

Her brother had betrayed her and tricked her outside of Leo's gates so Caroline's man could drug and kidnap her.

When she realizes what Caroline plans for her she prays harder for Leo to save her.  Because Caroline plans for Rick to rape her and force her into marrying him.  And Rick will do anything to become a Constantine.

Leo hates not being in control.  He lost control of his future at the age of fourteen when Catherine seduced and beat him to an inch of his life and since that time eighteen years ago he has hidden his secret and become the Beast of Bishop's Landing.

He is known for his cruelty.  It is his shield, but Haley has seen the truth.  She knows all his secrets.  So when she is kidnapped by her own family, a monster, he begs his brother to help him get her back.

This book.  Wow!  It is action-packed from beginning to end.  We get answers to questions and situations from books one and two and several twists in between.

We meet more Morelli and Constantines and get a better dynamic for these two feuding families.  Leo has grown so much since book one.  His scars run so deep that he almost wished for death so the pain would finally go away, but he hated to leave Haley unprotected.

The chemistry between Haley and Leo is complicated.  The sex is explicitly hot and tests her limits to pain, but she bears the pain because she knows how much Leo needs to be in control and why.

We have the cruelty of the worst kind imaginable towards a teenager, betrayal of family, finding out that the Beast isn't the monster in this series and an amazing love story that manages to survive even as they are fighting for their life literally throughout this series.

This series will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions from book one until the end of this trilogy.  This book alone has so much going on with major occurrences that take the story in different directions.

I cried through this book, especially the last quarter of it.  The depth of emotion that comes through these pages is intense.

I can't wait to see what Amelia Wilde has in store for our innocent Daphne and how Leo will react to her collector.
