REVIEW - THE LAST LEVIATHAN by Anacostia Miller

Maeve hears voices coming from the alley and hides as she watches crates being loaded to deliver to the waiting ship. She waits until they have headed back inside before opening one of the crates. It is full of pots and pans but she was able to squeeze inside before the men returned.

When Maeve feels the roll of the waves she waits a bit before she peeks out from the crate to see she is in some kind of storeroom. As soon as she gets out of the crate she can't strip fast enough. She may be down to her bloomers, but she refuses to wear the wedding dress any longer.

Now she just hopes that they are far enough away from shore when they realize they have a stowaway. A royal stowaway who just escaped from the evil man her father had sold her off to.

I absolutely loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Maeve is a princess who has been hidden away from the public eye her whole life. Levi is a pirate captain who lost everything at the hands of Maeve's father and he is livid to find her on his ship.

This fantasy romance is action-packed, full of danger and smoking hot. This book is full of surprises as this story unfolds. Maeve knew that her father and new husband were monsters, but she is horrified at their true crimes - especially when she learns the truth of her birth.

For those who don't like cliffhangers be aware this book is an HFN and not the end of their story. Highly recommend and can't wait to see what comes next.

THE LAST LEVIATHAN is book one of THE GUARDIANS OF FARLIGHT ISLES
