REVIEW - WHEN KINGS RISE by Vi Carter

Diarmuid O'Sullivan was an Irish Duke and an assassin for the O'Sullivan mafia, but they were under the control of the sinister Hand of Kings. As with all future Kings, he was provided with three brides... only one would be his Consort.

Each has a reason to play the game... but none were given a choice. Sold by their parents for a richer life. One would be Diarmuid's wife, but none would be free from the life of sexual slavery.

Amira who is determined to fix what her father destroyed when their family fell from grace by the hand of a King. She needed to escape her drunk mother's brutality.

Selene had the perfect life until she turned sixteen and found out that the only reason she had been born was as an offering to the mafia to further their greed.

Niamh wanted to protect her younger sister Elle so she could follow her dreams of being a ballerina. If she is picked her sister will be safe.

This book is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Warning: this book is a dark romance with non-consent. Think of The Bachelor and Diarmuid is given three brides. Only one will be chosen to be his wife, but he plans to have fun with all of them before making his choice.

This book is action-packed and full of danger from start to finish. It is full of intrigue as the hunt for a killer becomes the focus. Even as the killer is determined to not be found.

If you like dark romance you will love this book. This book does not have a HEA and will leave you with a MAJOR twist and a cliffhanger that takes this story to another dangerous level. Highly recommend!
