Donata was known as the Queen Bee by her best friends Enzo, Rex and Santino. They were all considered 'the Royals' at Midtown High as they were all next in line to be the Don of their family. Five mafia families that had formed an alliance call 'the Society' over a century ago.
But things have changed in the years since graduating high school. She was attending Columbia with Enzo. Rex and Santino are attending another college since Enzo has not forgiven Rex for not saving Aurora from a blazing fire that killed her and her parents their senior year of high school.
Now it is time for Donata's world to fall apart as she and Enzo step into their next class and she sees who their professor is. Luca Gallo... the man whose life she had ruined with her lies when she was fifteen. Although she had recanted and told the Society Dons that she had lied about him having sex with her he had still lost his job as professor and his reputation.
Now after eight years he was back and was determined to make her pay.
What an amazing conclusion to this series! Although this duet has its own HEA this series is meant to be read in order. The eight book series is broken into four duets and not only are the characters recurring, but there is a main storyline that ties these best friend's stories together.
This duet is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Donata has been obsessed with Luca since she was fifteen and despite everything she tried he never crossed the teacher/student line. Luca was back to destroy Donata for what she had done to him, but he wasn't the one who was pulling the strings on his revenge.
This book has some major twists and is even more action-packed and dangerous than before. There are too many spoiler moments for me to write about but WOW! You won't be disappointed. A great ending to a smoking hot mafia series!
Highly recommend!
