Chloe stood behind the bar at Savage Hell numb. She wasn't with everyone else who was giving Savage their final farewells. Stand over her father's grave to say goodbye. She couldn't do it. So she came to the only place where she could have privacy as her world fell apart.
Her father, in reality her uncle, had adopted her as an infant when her parents died in a car crash. But, she had never felt anything but the cherished love of a father.
Her mom, Dallas, and second dad, Bowie, were having a hard time processing Savage's sudden death of a heart attack. He may have been a scientist who built rockets for the Army but he hated doctors.
Now, according to the gorgeous stranger sitting at the bar, every MC club and syndicate now had their eyes on the Savage Hell MC. And especially on Chloe.
When Vengeance told her he was part of the Dragons, she was even more leery. She still had nightmares from when their former president, Dante, kidnapped her when she was eight, intending to sell her to the highest bidder in his human trafficking operation.
He was warning her because Savage had once stopped something bad from happening to him. He was repaying his debt by keeping her safe.
I both loved and hated this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This may be book one in this series, but Chloe's story began in Savage Heat and continued in Roadkill. To fully immerse yourself in Chloe's life you must read the other two books first.
What I hated about this book is that within the first two sentences, one of our favorites, Savage, was dead. Not from MC life, but from a heart attack. So I started out reading page one in tears.
Chloe is now an adult and the club members we met in Savage Heat were old and retiring, but still determined to keep Savage's family safe.
This book is action-packed, full of danger and suspense. And Vengeance has a secret that immediately fills everyone with distrust. Smoking hot MC romance. Highly recommend.
