Adrian is standing in front of his father's open coffin wishing she was there. There were only a few people in attendance...the housekeeper and groundskeeper from the estate that his father had worked for as chauffeur to a man Adrian hated, his father's friend and his Uncle Jonathan.
His father would be enraged that his brother was attending as they hadn't spoken in over 16 years since he had cut ties with all of the Cross family. His mother had died when he was four and his father had whisked him away to keep him away from the Cross organization. Unlike his mother's death from gunfire, his father was the victim of cancer.
Wishing that Celeste was there even though he hadn't asked her. But if the powerful man his dad had worked for the past sixteen years wasn't in attendance it would look weird if his daughter was. Being more than friends was dangerous for them because of who her father was and who Adrian's family was even though his father tried to deny them.
As head of the Cross organization, his Uncle Jonathan wants him to sit by his side. Even though his father tried to keep him from that dangerous world Adrian knew it was where he belonged. He has to make a choice to either take his father's place and work for a man he despises or take on the wealth and power of joining his uncle. But all he can think of is Celeste.
When he learns the reason why she isn't at his father's funeral he is enraged and his heart turns to stone.
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable! OMG...WOW! This has to be my favorite Jagger Cole book yet! It will definitely set your Kindle on fire.
This book is action-packed from word one and packed with danger and intrigue. Adrian is a man that you would run from in real life...or not. He's the perfect man if you forget he's the head of a mafia family and has rage issues...but he would burn down the world for Celeste.
This book is full of betrayal, lies and suspense and so smoking hot! Jagger Cole has written an amazing story full of twists and turns and I so did not expect where the danger was coming from. If you haven't read a Jagger Cole novel you are missing out!
Highly recommend and cannot wait to see what he has in store for the rest of these guys!
