Warner was granted a scholarship to an elite private school in New York City during his senior year of high school. Although he had excellent academic scores, the school invited him for his outstanding hockey scores so their team would have a winning season.
He and Ford had bonded immediately and became best friends. But, Warner was keeping a secret from his classmates and never corrected their misconceptions. But, secrets always have a way of blowing up in your face. When the truth came out Ford stood beside him, until he made the worse decision of his life losing not only his girlfriend but his best friend.
And if that wasn't bad enough Imogen has moved to Florida to be close to her brother and his daughter. Imogen, his ex-girlfriend, Ford's sister. The woman he destroyed ten years ago. And now he can't avoid her. It is taking everything he has not to land at her doorstep on his knees begging for her forgiveness.
Just when he thinks he can get control of himself, the team owner arrives to speak with the team...with his daughter Jana and Imogen. He can feel the heat of Ford's glare across the clubhouse.
Imogen has just been hired as the Florida Fury's new hipe girl. She is determined to prove she can do something without having to rely on her family name. She grew up on the Upper East Side from old money and had everything she could ever need. Not only does her brother still treat her like a child even though she was twenty-seven, but she has also just found out that they want Warner Langley to be the new face of the team.
And it's her job to not only convince the highly private man but to attend all the scheduled events with him.
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. I love Warner!!! A drop-dead gorgeous man who had to make an adult decision while still a child. Words he was never able to take back or give an explanation for. Imogen can't help the way her heart still beats for Warner, but can she trust him after all the pain he caused in the past?
This book is action-packed from beginning to end. I laughed and I cried. I love the camaraderie and relationships with the other team members. Ford's antagonism towards Warner comes through the pages keeping you waiting for the explosion to come.
This is a best friend's sister, second chance, sport's romance with all the feels. I totally enjoyed this smoking hot romance! This is the first time reading this writing duo, but I will definitely be reading more and look forward to reading the rest of this series!
