When and how did you
know you wanted to be a writer?
Being a writer was never a plan, I just fell into it after a story that was running through my head kept me from sleep. My husband encouraged me to power up the laptop and but down the words.
A couple of friends read my rough work and pushed me to continue. It snowballed from there.
Did you have any influencing writers growing up?
Not really. It wasn't until I was around seventeen that I switched from magazines to reading romance books.
Are any of your characters based on people in real life?
Some have snippets of peoples personalities, but not a carbon copy.
Where do you draw your book inspirations from?
Music, events that happen around me, experiences.
Do you use have a basic outline when starting a new story or do you let the characters lead the way?
I’m a bit of a pantster but I do usually have a basic start, middle and end but my characters have a habit of changing it mid flow.
When you are picturing the characters in your book, do you have a cheater photo for inspiration?
Sometimes, not always. I have a very vivid imagination.
Many people read as a form of escape and relaxation. What is your favorite way to sit back and relax?
Exactly that. Books are my downtime and recharge go to.
Who are your favorite current authors to read?
I don’t really have one. I love CM Stunich, KL Shandwick but the list of my go to authors is crazy.
What are your favorite books by others?
Havoc Series by CM Stunich. Flynn series by KL Shandwick. I’ve very much a indie modern lover. Not much into the classics.
Do the locations in the stories have any meaning to you?
Some do. Some are totally fictional. Leeds is my hometown so some of my books are based in Yorkshire and I’ve visited Pittsburg a fair few times so I used those experiences too.

Usually duel but have wrote single too.
What do you find to be your best research tool?
Google and real people. I have reach out to friends who luckily have always been willing to talk about their jobs, experiences over a coffee.

Just the one TL Wainwright.
What genre do you write and why is this your preference?
Women’s adult fiction.
Sub-genres: MC, Billionaire, Dark Romance. I do have a couple of fun, flirty funny reads too.
Tell me something about yourself outside of writing. Jobs, accomplishments, family, quirky trait...what led to you being you?
I’ve worked in the Freight forwarding, logistics industry since leaving school at the tender age of sixteen, starting as an office junior.
I’m currently the Cross Trade Manager for a large company based in Leeds.
I love rollercoaster, the smell of bleach and Italian food.
My biggest accomplishment has been having and raising a hard working, well-rounded daughter that astounds me with her own accomplishments.
I’ve managed to stay married to the same man for over thirty years that despite driving me crazy, I’ve managed not to kill. Maybe that is me true major accomplishment. π
If you are a duo writing team, how do you share the writing process?
As yet, no duo.
What advice would you give to an aspiring writer?
Be true to yourself.
How do you deal and process negative book reviews?
I get upset, go on a downer for a while, then give myself a good talking to and swift kick up the arse.
It is impossible to please everyone and if someone only likes tea, they’re not going to love your coffee.
What is the most difficult part of your writing process?
The blurb.
Sometimes motivating myself when I’m tired from the day job.

Quiet music. No human distractions.
What is your naughty indulgence as you are writing?
I don’t really have one.

Do it quite a bit. I’m good friends with KL Shandwick and as she’s only about one hour away, I visit when I can.

Not really. My schedule is all over the place but I do try to at least get some words down every day even if only a couple of hundred.

Quite music in background. It’s usually something that’s in line with the book I’m reading.

Only my husband if he wants to watch a movie together LOL.

Not a major character… Yet! I have killed of loveable lesser characters and nasty ones too.
How do you celebrate after typing THE END?
I usually take a deep breath, sigh and do a Chandler dance in the privacy of my own room. Nothing special.
