Cassandra was tired and looking for a gym was the last thing she wanted to do. They had just unloaded her car and found their dorm room and Kelly was already looking for the nearest gym near the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus.
Kelly hadn't been the one up all night fighting with her family who were still trying to get her to stay home and work at their family restaurant. Stay at home, get married and have tons of kids. Tons of kids by a nice Greek boy.
She has had the dream of moving to Chicago and leaving her controlling Greek family since she was ten and nothing they could say would change her mind. She wanted to be independent, get a college degree and work in HR in Chicago. No husband...no children.
She especially needed to get away from Jason who broke up with her for having a high sex drive saying it was all that consumed her thoughts. She hadn't become the salutatorian of their graduating class without working hard. Was it asking too much to want someone who loved her for all her parts - her obsession with music and especially her high sex drive?
I loved this story! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This book is told totally in Cassandra's POV and an HFN as the complete series follows Cassandra and her search for Mr. Right. Although this is book two of Cassandra's story it begins as she leaves for college to follow her dreams and can be read as a standalone.
I highly recommend also reading Sexual Awakening, book one of the series, which covers Cassandra's high school years and not only gives you a peek into her Greek family and what she considers outdated and unrealistic views on women but as it is titled it is also her sexual awakening.
This book follows her college years with the close friendships with her roommate Kelly and the four women whose dorm rooms are on both sides of theirs. In looking for Mr. Right through college she finds too many Mr. Wrongs. Some more wrong than others.
From high school pull tab game to catching the bridal bouquet... outdated traditions that she is determined won't control her life decisions, Cassie has had the dream of living in Chicago since she was ten years old but has also wanted a relationship where she is loved for who she is. Why are her dreams finally within her reach so painful?
This book is action-packed and steamy hot. Being a single POV we are in Cassandra's head a lot and her thoughts will keep you laughing and turning the pages. The end of the book is a tear-jerker and for those who want a HEA at the end of a book you won't find it here. I can't wait for the next book in this series as Cassandra enters the workforce and see if she is any closer to finding her Mr. Right.
