Charlie has been working on this com project and is beyond frustrated. He had promised his best friend Ethan it would only be two months and it has been six months. He can't find anything small enough to design the earpiece so he can do a final test.
Arey is Charlie's girlfriend...and an alien. Charlie left Earth six months ago in search of his birth parents who live on a planet in another galaxy. Like him, his parents are both geniuses and found portals to travel within the galaxies.
When his father realizes what Charlie needs he digs through his drawer and Charlie is able to finally finish the coms that will keep him and Ethan in touch with each other until Ethan graduates and can come here full-time.
Charlie's adopted parents on Earth know that he went looking for his parents, but he can't be seen on Earth as it would bring up too many questions. So he teleports himself directly into Ethan's room and they make plans for the weekend for Ethan to spend a few days in Charlie's new world.
Charlie takes Ethan to another planet where instead of playing games through a gaming system you do it in reality...and you can't die. After playing and killing each other all day when they separate to go shower, Ethan is kidnapped by The Reapers, an intergallatical slave ring.
I don't normally read sci-fi, but I really enjoyed this book! Charlie and Ethan are seventeen year old geniuses who find that humans, and aliens, aren't very different no matter where in the galaxy you are located. And that includes those who wish to profit off others.
This book is very well written and grabbed my attention from page one. It is action-packed and full of suspense and danger. Ethan found his mission in life due to unfortunate circumstances and with the help of his friends he set out to complete it. Highly recommend this book!
