Halstrom at first thinks he is imagining it, but there she goes again. The waitress is stuffing more French fries from the plate she is delivering into her mouth. He had been coming to this diner every day for the last few weeks so he could watch the new waitress Hailey in morbid fascination. He loves to people watch and she is more entertaining than most.
He didn't know her but knew everything about her bad habits and her impulsive nature due to overhearing her conversations with her co-workers. She was irresponsible but amusing. Donating her last dollar to whatever heart-wrenching ad about animals was more important than electricity.
But, her worse habit was putting in her earbuds and looking at her phone as she walked to and from the diner. He had luckily stopped by late one night only to see a homeless man following her as she strolled cluelessly home never knowing he had intervened. He might have a hands-off policy, but she definitely needed a daddy to take charge of her reckless chaotic life.
Today was a big day for Hailey and she was going to need more than a charming smile...she was nervous about her interview at the large accounting firm...especially since she failed her internship after college. She hoped her past work record didn't work against her because besides needing the money getting lost in numbers was the only thing she was good at and was the only thing that helped her focus.
When she arrives for her interview she notices cameras being set up in the conference room and wonders what could be so interesting at an accounting firm. She is told that her interview has been changed to a different person and literally trips over her own feet entering the office at the command to enter...she has never been so embarrassed, but before she could get up and run away she is helped up from the floor and realizes she recognizes the man's voice.
If you like DdLg books you will love this story. It is very well written and Hailey will keep you laughing at her antics. When Hailey recognizes the man from the diner she thinks that her interview is a sham and she somehow landed on a reality show so she decides to give them a show. When she realizes that she has made a fool of herself at an actual job interview it is too late and Halstrom shows her what happens to bad girls.
If you have read Rogue London before you know to expect spankings and Halstrom doesn't let you down with his drawer full of rulers. This is a short read being part of an anthology, but there is a lot packed within the pages. For those Daddy lovers, I highly recommend.
