Aquarius used to be the caretaker of all the water on the planet, both fresh and salt water, but Zeus was jealous of all the powers held by the titans as he wanted to be the supreme ruler. Zeus took Aquarius prisoner and gave Poseidon control of the oceans.
Zeus shackled Aquarius in his room with restraints that prevented Aquarius from using his powers. The only thing that Zeus couldn't control was Aquarius's golden belt, Justice, which came in handy when Zeus's daughter Helen thought to play games with him. Unlike her father who she had wrapped around her finger, Aquarius wasn't putting up with her bratty ways.
He was enraged when he found out Zeus planned to marry off his love and used her to start a war. When he was able to finally escape his imprisonment he hid in the shadow world until it was time to find Helen and punish her for disappearing without a word.
Helen was dancing when a hand grabbed her backside and turned and slapped the repugnant man who thought he could touch her without permission. When he reached out to grab her again he was grabbed from behind by a huge muscular man who filled out his Prada suit to perfection.
As the man dropped to his knees she studied the gorgeous man who came to her rescue. When he offered to buy her a drink she told him she would meet him after going to the ladies' room. But, Helen was in hiding and decided to sneak out the back instead.
Skylar West is out of retirement and what a wonderful story! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. It has been centuries since Aquarius had seen Helen and as soon as he escaped his imprisonment he started his search, but she had veiled her powers to be able to escape the notice of those who her father had sent to find her and punish her.
This book is action packed, full of drama and angst, and scorching hot sexual content. Helen may have wished to be found by Aquarius, but she has secrets that she is scared will destroy any future they may have.
I first read Skylar West with her Angels & Demons series and have been begging her to come out of retirement and am excited to see what she has in store for us next. Skylar also writes under the pen name Rogue London so make sure to check out her contemporary Daddy Dom books and their brats.
