Old friends.
New flames. Dangerous consequences.
Reunions with childhood friends should
be filled with nostalgia and funny, embarrassing stories.
Not sexual tension so hot it threatens
to set fire to an entire forest.
But that’s exactly what Mark Quinn discovers when he heads out to a remote campsite with his high school best friend, Stan and his sweet, sassy girlfriend Gina. And if coming to terms with his feelings for two of his oldest friends wasn’t enough, someone is targeting the residents of Peaceful once again. The Quinn family must band together one final time to take down their enemies once and for all, or risk losing everything.
Every Quinn Quartet novel has a stand-alone romance story and an interconnected plot. For new readers, we advise you to start with Delving Deep for a complete understanding of the overall story arc and the family dynamics. We hope you'll enjoy this final installment set in Peaceful, Ohio–where danger lurks beneath the peaceful façade.
Excerpt
Gina rotated her stiff shoulders and moved her head from side to side to
work out the kinks. Stan, Mark, and she had busted their asses the last three
days mending and replacing stuff. She hadn’t been this sore or tired since basic
training.
Pathetic. Apparently, I’ve gone soft.
As she resumed sweeping the floor, she decided to increase her morning
running routine by another mile and mentally added twenty pushups in her
evening workout. Maybe some vigorous exercise would also wear out her
overactive and depraved mind. Because the way her thoughts kept straying to
more intimate activities with Stan and Mark was distracting and irritating.
Male voices and a gust of wind when the cabin door swung open made her
turn. As if her thoughts conjured them, the two tall men strode inside. She
gave herself a mental kick when her heart fluttered at the sight of her
ex-boyfriend and his best buddy. Mark and Stan had bonded as soon as she and
Stan had returned to Peaceful, and a stab of envy at the easy rapport between
the two friends squeezed her ribs tight.
There had been a time she and Stan were this close.
And then I blew it all to smithereens with my stupid desire for a hero
like Christian Grey. Like those romance heroes exist in real life. And why
would I want someone as damaged as him? Stan is… warm, pleasant, and nice—like
sunbeams. Why do I crave someone darker—like gray rain clouds? She snorted.
Fifty shades of gray rain clouds.
Both men turned their attention on her with curiosity written all over
their faces. Tall and lanky, Stan stood a few inches above Mark, and his kind
brown eyes crinkled in the corners at the sight of her.
“Want to share that thought, spitfire?” Mark asked.
Mark might have been slightly shorter than Stan but was still tall and more than made up for the height difference with his bulk. She practically salivated at the idea of running her hands and tongue over all those muscles. “Just wondering why I prefer clouds over clear air.”
Author Bio
Karen Nappa writes Seasoned BDSM Romance with HEA. Their growing library includes TRAPPED (a D/s story), and CHERISHED (an age play story). Now, they’ve embarked on a completely new adventure in the Appalachian hills of Ohio – THE QUINN QUARTET.
Immersed in the D/s lifestyle themselves, they write realistic albeit romantic stories. When not dominated by their cats or their Master (in that order – even if it earns them a spanking!), they love going to Club Indigo and other places to discover the stories that are waiting to be written.
When not texting, skyping or writing together the American half likes to spin yarn and make quilts, while the Dutch "partner in crime" prefers to go for a run while listening to heavy metal.
April 11th, 2019 will be a date they will always remember. Not only was it the day their debut Trapped (Club Indigo 1) was released, it also was the day that the two halves of Karen Nappa met in person.
