Lilah's mother excitedly handed her an envelope telling her to open it. It was an acceptance letter from the university. She wasn't feeling her mother's excitement. All she wanted to do was read and lose herself in the world of vampires...everything else in her life was boring and she didn't know what to study that would give her the excitement she yearned for.
When her mother arrived home later that night drunk and throwing accusations of jealousy her way she decided to leave and get some much-needed fresh air. It was only as she started walking that she realized that it might not have been her best idea to be out walking alone at night...especially when she felt the presence of someone watching her.
She was hoping it was something supernatural instead of being a serial killer or rapist. She was excited to find it to be a vampire and decided to offer him a trade. She would be his companion and blood supply if he would show her his world.
I absolutely loved this book. It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This book is unlike any vampire books I've read in the past. Lilah is frustrated with her boring life and is determined to be turned into a vampire, but Cain is just as determined that she not leave her life as a human behind.
This book is action-packed from page one as Lilah travels throughout Europe fighting and learning from the strongest vampires. This book is full of danger and suspense as Lilah builds her strength and knowledge in her goal to have Cain turn her. She is determined that he not deny her wish for immortality.
