Jameson is finally getting what he has worked for since he was five years old. He could have done without the real estate agent super fan though. He can't believe she showed up to show him and his partner Grant the property with the Foodie Magazine edition with him on the cover asking for an autograph. But the space was perfect and the up-and-coming residential area didn't have any restaurants in the area, unlike Manhattan which had twenty within a block area.
Izzy is livid. A huge truck just pulled into the space she had planned to park and the stupid gorgeous jerk just smiled and winked and told her he was there first. Now she and her best friend Rochelle are soaking wet after having to trek two blocks to the perfect rustic space for her dream restaurant. She planned to honor her grandmother's recipes giving them her own little twist.
Only the jerk who took her parking space is a famous chef and plans to open his restaurant right next door. The war is on.
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is the last book in the Fury Family series and can be read as a standalone although I highly recommend you read both Bash and Rachel's stories.
Jameson comes from hockey royalty, but his dream has always been to be a chef. Following in his father's footsteps was the last thing he wanted to do. Izzy was determined to fulfill her dreams no matter the roadblocks standing in her way. Jameson was doing everything he could to make sure her restaurant didn't open but she had a few tricks up her sleeve as payback.
This book is smoking hot and downright hilarious. Izzy's alterations to Jameson's menu was laugh out loud funny and I can just picture him on TV trying to laugh it off as a joke. But as funny as this back and forth rivalry is it is also the most heart-wrenching of the series and I warn you in advance to have a box of Kleenex handy.
I highly recommend this book and the complete series.
