REVIEW - THE REASON I MARRIED HIM by Meghan Quinn

Wyatt's best friend Laurel is standing over him with an unhappy look on her face. She has had enough of him making an indent into her couch and demands that he get up and take a shower as she burns the sheets because of the stench. Three weeks ago he had taken over her couch after his fiance broke off their wedding the night before their wedding.

He is still heartbroken and in shock, but he takes an unfortunate sniff to find out that Laurel was correct. He stank. Then he finds out his cousin is engaged. That is all he needed to get himself on the move. His grandfather had recently passed away and the first grandchild who marries inherits the cabin in the mountains. The cabin that means so much to him and that his cousin hates. All he can picture is Wallace replacing it with condos just to spite him.

So after he gets out of the shower he sits down and does what any author would do... he plots and he knows exactly what he needs to do to guarantee he gets the cabin that holds so many memories.

I loved this book! We first meet Aubree in The Way I Hate Him, her sister Hattie's story. Although this is a standalone novel with its own HEA, I suggest you read Hattie's story first to get the full depth of Aubree's character as Aubree, Ryland and Hattie try to pick up the pieces of their lives after the death of their sister Cassidy. Determined to fulfill Cassidy and Clarke's vision and preserve their memory for their niece Mackenzie.

As soon as Clarke's brother arrives she knows he has ulterior motives than just stopping by to visit his niece.

This is an enemies-to-lovers, reverse grumpy rom-com that will keep you laughing throughout the book despite the tears of sadness. Aubree is not known for her friendly attitude. Exactly the opposite. After the death of their mother Ryland and Cassidy did their best to avert their abusive father, but they were children themselves taking on adult responsibilities. Between her father and her ex-boyfriend, Aubree didn't trust men and buried emotions deep to not be hurt.

Wyatt has the perfect plan to get his grandfather's cabin. He only needs to convince the woman who hates him to agree. The more annoying Wyatt became the harder I laughed. There were definitely things that Wyatt's author's mind couldn't anticipate which backfired on him big time. The changes in Aubree's character from when we first meet her are drastic. Instead of their past bringing them closer Aubree closed off all emotion even to her family and I am so happy that this damaged woman found love.

Highly recommend! Can't wait for Ryland's story and hopefully Abel will also get a happily-ever-after.
