She had wanted a partner she could hand over complete control, but her only relationship had ended in heartbreak when her ex-Master had put things before her until she finally ran. Maybe she just wanted too much and serving the people who came to Rawhide Ranch to experience the life would be the closest she would ever come to that happiness.
Master Derek is staring at her across his desk and is concerned that her time at the Ranch is not healing her. The other residents had indicated that they have barely spoken and although she does excellent work she goes out of her way to avoid contact with others. He hands her a card to a husband/wife therapist team and tells her she has 48 hours to make an appointment to discuss the reason she is here at the Ranch.
As she stares at him she starts gasping for air as a major panic attack takes over her body. Would they throw her out? She hadn't made any friends, but would they look at her in disgust when they found out who she really was behind her uniform?
She is making sure the Dungeon is perfectly stocked when she hears a voice... the man she ran from a year ago is here at Rawhide Ranch. Cade... her Master.
I loved River and Cade's story. This book is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Authors Ann Jensen & Rogue London have joined forces again for another great BDSM story.
All River wants is to serve. The 1950s sitcom wife's life is her dream. She even dresses the part in her retro dresses and her hair is curled in an updo. But she is a submissive with a depraved side and her Master seems more interested in climbing the ladder at work than meeting her needs.
Rogue London and Ann Jensen have co-written several books together and the blending of their writing styles will keep you turning the pages as their story unfolds. River and Cade were in a 24/7 Master/slave relationship until River ran with no note. A year later Cade is still pining over her, but is angry that she would leave without a word or discuss what was wrong. And then he arrives at Rawhide Ranch and finds out that he was the cause of their relationship failing and was determined to correct his mistakes.
If you like BDSM then you will love this story! River has some deep-seated issues and needs but has a hard time voicing what is on her mind. Cade had his focus on climbing the corporate ladder and missed the signs. Highly recommend!
