***Synopsis***

All of the heroes in this series, set in Los Angeles, were in the music industry and now they multi-billion dollar corporations multi-billion dollar corporations. The heroes from book one and book two are business partners. The heroine from book two is best friends with the heroine of book three. The hero in book four is friends with the heroes in the first three books.

What is the sub-genre and trope? Did your characters lead you to this genre or was that decided before the story began?

Beckett: Workplace romance

Rhys: Brother’s best friend romance

Phoenix: Arrange marriage/marriage of convenience romance

Are you more character or plot-driven?

Character driven, like all my books.

With many main and secondary characters, how do you keep them separated in your mind? Do you have a story/vision board above your workspace?

I use spreadsheets, but for the most part, these characters reside in my head.

Are any of the male POVs based on anyone you know?

No.

Are any of the female POVs based on anyone you know?

No.

Was there any one character/scene that was harder to write about than the other?

Not really. All three books flowed. Same for book 4, which is coming out in November.

What is your favorite book in the series?

It's a toss between book 1 and book 4.

Book 1 because the character is so self-assured and cocky.

Book 4 because the character is so tormented.

I know that we aren’t supposed to have “favorites” as far as our children, but seriously, who’s your favorite character and why?

Same answer as above.

Series question - Who is your favorite couple and why did you decide on their dynamics?

Same answer as above.

The reason in both cases is because they they're opposites attract. In both cases, the hero falls first.

How do you get inside these characters’ heads to find their perfect HEA?

About a third of the book, I really have a great sense of both characters, and it makes it easy to write the story all the way to the last page.

Series - Were any of the books harder to write than others?

No.

How long did it take you to write this book/series?

It can take anywhere between 3 to 4 months to write a book of over 100,000 words.

How did you come up with the title for your book and series?

The title describes the heroes and I combined that with their name.

If you met these characters in real life would you get along?

I'd hope so, since I created them.

Series question – Did you know in advance that you were going to write this as a series or did one of the characters in book one demand their own story?

I write in series.

If your book/series were made into a movie, which actors do you see as playing your characters?

I'd love nothing more, but honestly, I don't have a list of actors in mind. I'd leave that task to the Casting Director. I'm sure he or she would cast the best talent for the role.

Can you give us a hint as to what we can expect next? Whether a new book and series or a sequel to an existing series? Can you share a small tease?

I'm starting a new series, hopefully, in February. No teasers. I'm still at the brainstorming stage.

BIO:

Scarlett’s obsession with rich and powerful men started with the movie The Thomas Crown Affair (1999). To this day, it’s one of the handful of movies she’s watched more than once.

She’s tried to write other type of heroes, but she’s come to discover that rich, domineering alphas are her favourite characters.

The Thomas Crown Affair also influenced the type of female character she writes. Only smart, sassy, and vulnerable heroines are brave enough to bring these powerful men down to their knees.

USA TODAY and Amazon TOP 21 bestselling author Scarlett Avery unapologetically pens all-consuming love stories featuring smoking hot filthy rich book boyfriends who have the determination of a thousand warriors. Her heroines are smart and sassy. And you should always expect edge-of-your-seat twists.

Scarlett’s stories are intense and passionate, emotional and steamy, and always leave you begging for more.

Scarlett spends her private days in the North Pole (aka Canada).

She’s a polyglot (she speaks numerous languages). She has a serious love affair with Italian gelato, ice cream, pound cake, white chocolate and Macadamia nut cookies, peanut butter cookies, and martinis. She could live off French or Italian charcuterie and cheese boards. California Chardonnay?

So, I tell off the cocky stranger I'm trapped in an elevator with in the dark.
Flash forward two weeks.
Mr. Elevator is now my new boss…

After my good for nothing cousin stole my boyfriend (who was my boss), and I found myself without a home or a job, I swore off men for the rest of my life. I’m way too jaded to fall for another smooth talker in a bespoke suit…

But then, I get trapped in an elevator (in the dark) with one.

Mr. Sexy Voice decides to play 20 Questions. The rule follower in me is freaking out because I’m late for a job interview courtesy of this stupid elevator. Playing a silly get-to-know-you-better game is the last thing on my mind.

To shut up the man with a romance audiobook narrator voice who smells like Eau de Pheromone, I tell him off.

When the lights turn back on, I’m knocked on my behind. Mr. Sexy Voice is a demigod. Tall. Dressed like he holds the world in the palm of his hand. And those dreamy blue eyes could make any girl swoon. No human has the right to look this hot.

Not that it matters, because I have zero desire to get involved with a man.

Never again.

When we get rescued, I can’t get away from him fast enough. No way am I letting this charmer mess up with my head.

A few weeks later, I step into a life-changing meeting-slash-interview, and I’m face to face with the man I thought I’d never see again.

Mr. Sexy Voice is my new billionaire mogul boss-slash-client?!

Turns out there are consequences to telling off the boss. Big consequences

He’s my overprotective older brother’s lifelong best friend…

That alone should prevent me from throwing myself at him, but it doesn’t.

My world starts and ends with sexy one-hit wonder turned billionaire mogul, Rhys Hartford.

Not that it matters. Rhys’s fierce loyalty to my brother trumps everything. When it comes to me, he has blinders on.

I’ve been in love with him for half of my life, but he’s oblivious to my infatuation. Even as an adult, no other man has ever been able to make me forget the tall, blue-eyed hunk who has a hold on my heart.

Not even unrequited love is enough of a crushing humiliation to open myself to possibilities with another man, so I resigned myself to never having what I want––him.

After my short-lived career as a pop star in the UK comes to a screeching halt, leaving me without a dime to my name, I’m forced to move back home to LA. My overprotective older brother convinces the man who’s played a starring role in all of my teenage—and young adult—fantasies to let me stay with him in his massive, gated mansion.

Now that my brother’s best friend and I are roommates, he can’t ignore me.

How do I convince him to break the bro code?

 PHOENIX by Scarlett Avery
Billionaire Mogul - Book 3

Available in Kindle Unlimited!

Either I go along with this fake marriage to a mogul CEO I don’t even know or my family risks losing everything…

I’m across the country when I find out my father hired a big-time publicist to announce my upcoming wedding to one of the most powerful men in the country. A king in the hotel industry. The problem is, it’s news to me. I’ve never even met this man.

I flat out refuse. In fact, I protest vehemently.

That’s until my father fesses up to deep, dark secrets he’s been holding back from me. We’re on the verge of bankruptcy.

To save my family’s legacy—and hold on to the vestige of the precious heritage my deceased mother left behind—I have to agree to a merger-marriage?!

Sure, the tall, blue-eyed, commanding mogul with the chocolatey voice is so gorgeous, it makes my head spin, but that doesn’t change the facts. He’s a complete stranger.

To dig himself out of a hellish abyss, my father turned me into a pawn. A payment.

Just like that, I find myself stripped of all decision power. Either I go along with this fake marriage or my family risks losing everything…
