***Synopsis***
All of the heroes in this series, set in Los Angeles, were in the music industry and now they multi-billion dollar corporations multi-billion dollar corporations. The heroes from book one and book two are business partners. The heroine from book two is best friends with the heroine of book three. The hero in book four is friends with the heroes in the first three books.
What is the sub-genre and trope? Did your characters lead you to this genre or
was that decided before the story began?
Beckett: Workplace romance
Rhys: Brother’s best friend romance
Phoenix: Arrange marriage/marriage of convenience romance
Are you more character or plot-driven?
Character driven, like all my books.
With many main and secondary characters, how do you keep them separated in your mind? Do you have a story/vision board above your workspace?
I use spreadsheets, but for the most part, these characters reside in my head.
Are any of the male POVs based on anyone you know?
No.
Are any of the female POVs based on anyone you know?
No.
Was there any one character/scene that was harder to write about than the other?
Not really. All three books flowed. Same for book 4, which is coming out in November.
What is your favorite book in the series?
It's a toss between book 1 and book 4.
Book 1 because the character is so self-assured and cocky.
Book 4 because the character is so tormented.
I know that we aren’t supposed to have “favorites” as far as our children, but seriously, who’s your favorite character and why?
Same answer as above.
Series question - Who is your favorite couple and why did you decide on their dynamics?
Same answer as above.
The reason in both cases is because they they're opposites attract. In both cases, the hero falls first.
How do you get inside these characters’ heads to find their perfect HEA?
About a third of the book, I really have a great sense of both characters, and it makes it easy to write the story all the way to the last page.
Series - Were any of the books harder to write than others?
No.
How long did it take you to write this book/series?
It can take anywhere between 3 to 4 months to write a book of over 100,000 words.
How did you come up with the title for your book and series?
The title describes the heroes and I combined that with their name.
If you met these characters in real life would you get along?
I'd hope so, since I created them.
Series question – Did you know in advance that you were going to write this as a series or did one of the characters in book one demand their own story?
I write in series.
If your book/series were made into a movie, which actors do you see as playing your characters?
I'd love nothing more, but honestly, I don't have a list of actors in mind. I'd leave that task to the Casting Director. I'm sure he or she would cast the best talent for the role.
Can you give us a hint as to what we can expect next? Whether a new book and series or a sequel to an existing series? Can you share a small tease?
I'm starting a new series, hopefully, in February. No teasers. I'm still at the brainstorming stage.

She’s tried to write other type of heroes, but she’s come to discover that rich, domineering alphas are her favourite characters.
The Thomas Crown Affair also influenced the type of female character she writes. Only smart, sassy, and vulnerable heroines are brave enough to bring these powerful men down to their knees.
USA TODAY and Amazon TOP 21 bestselling author Scarlett Avery unapologetically pens all-consuming love stories featuring smoking hot filthy rich book boyfriends who have the determination of a thousand warriors. Her heroines are smart and sassy. And you should always expect edge-of-your-seat twists.
Scarlett’s stories are intense and passionate, emotional and steamy, and always leave you begging for more.
Scarlett spends her private days in the North Pole (aka Canada).
She’s a polyglot (she speaks numerous languages). She has a serious love affair with Italian gelato, ice cream, pound cake, white chocolate and Macadamia nut cookies, peanut butter cookies, and martinis. She could live off French or Italian charcuterie and cheese boards. California Chardonnay?
