Wren is sitting in front of the fireplace, cozy under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate, reminiscing about how they got there. Each of the Hawthorne brothers rolled their eyes at her and told her she needed to get it right. They each corrected her version and laughed at her theatrics.
The Hawthorne brothers - Greyson, Soran and Logan - had been invited, ummm commanded, them to Thanksgiving dinner. But they should have expected it to be an ambush instead of a homey get-together because their father didn't have a fatherly bone in him.
He told them how disappointed he was in each of them and that instead of leaving his billion-dollar fishing boat business to them equally he was adding a clause. A Holiday Clause - the first one to get married by Christmas would inherit it all.
To say they weren't happy about their father once again trying to control their lives was an understatement. He had tried their whole life to break their close bond and now he was pitting them against each other for their inheritance. And none of them had a woman who they could marry.
Except Wren.
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This series is intended to be read in order. I am not going to tell you about these characters because that will be giving away a major plot twist. What fun is that?
This book is spicy hot and will keep you laughing as these three brothers try, despite their thoughts on their father's demands, to fulfill The Holiday Clause. And Wren isn't happy with any of them using her as a trophy, especially after they have ruined any chance of her ever dating anyone her whole life by running everyone off who tried with their caveman threats.
