It was early November in Alaska and Lily was out bundled up as she chopped wood. She had moved to the wilds of Alaska five years ago for the solitude and quiet - just her and her dog, Bear. The nearest civilization was forty miles away and that was how she liked it.
Bear's went on alert and a low whine came from his chest. Looking in the direction that had his attention and the sky splits open and something falls fast enough to leave a streak of fire behind it. It is like the sky opened up, spit something out and then the seam closed again.
But the screams that follow tell her that whatever fell from the sky was not a meteor and despite her instinct to lock herself in the cabin, she grabbed her medical kit and Bear and she found their way to see what they would find.
What she didn't expect to find was a huge man whose impact made a forty-foot crater. And what looked like a perfect impression in the ice of a pair of wings that spanned at least thirty feet across. What had just fell out of the sky?
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This series is intended to be read in order. The series revolves arount the Kings of Anarchy MC: Alaska chapter and characters are recurring and reading them in order gives you a greater insight into this group of paranormal bikers.
This book is action-packed, especially towards the end. Prophet lost the grace of heaven in the last book when he changed the outcome of a prophesy to save a life. Lily was a heart surgeon who was betrayed and moved to Alaska to heal and not have to deal with another human being. It was just her and her fight for survival in a land that didn't care who you were.
In this book we get to see all seventeen of the Kings of Anarchy in their natural form as they surround and protect Prophet. Each a different monster, but their brotherhood was strong and they would do anything to protect each other. This is a slow burn romance and leans more into a dark paranormal MC romance where survival of the Alaskan wilds and a shared enemy are the focus. Love this series! Highly recommend!
