REVIEW - HEIR OF BITTER THORN by Kay L Moody

All Elora wanted was to compete in a tournament.  She has been taking fencing lessons from her father her whole life and wants to prove her competence with the sword.  But females weren't allowed to compete - if she is caught it could mean death.

As she is walking in the woods to her favorite tree she blinks because it looks like eyes are looking at her through the tree.  Except the eyes are part of the tree.  Kaia is a dryad from Bitter Thorn and asks Elora if she wants an adventure more exciting than a tournament.  All she has to do is rescue the lost prince, the heir of Bitter Thorn, from an evil queen.

I loved this book!  It is very well written and draws you immediately into a world of fantasy.  The characters are fully developed and fully relatable.

This book is full of action and danger as Elora fights to save Prince Brannick from Queen Alessandra who tricked him into making a bargain that he would do anything she asked.  In the world of Fae once you entered into a bargain it was unbreakable.

You will find it all in this fantasy romance - magic, dryads, dragons, trolls, fae, gnomes, sprites....  This book will enchant you into wanting more!  This is the first time I have read Kay L Moody and I can't wait to continue Elora's adventure!
