REVIEW - HIS BRUTAL GAME by Audrey Rush

Blood was washing down the metal sink drain in the dairy barn.  The dairy barn at Feldman Farms had never housed any cows.  But, it made a great cover for his family's real business.

His father arrives at the barn with his brother Sawyer who was dressed impeccably as usual since he worked the business end of their farm networking and making deals.  With Sawyer's thirtieth birthday right around the corner, their father wanted to discuss the Feldman Trials and Wilder's offering.

For generations ownership of their family business was decided by trial.  They would each be given their 'livestock' orders to fulfill and the first to complete their list and gave their offering would be the winner.

Wilder was sitting with his father and brother at his father's favorite gentlemen's club The Trap waiting for them to reveal the woman they had selected to be his wife.  He could care less who was selected for him to marry as caring wouldn't change her future.

Maisie grasped at the opportunity to marry Forrest's son.  A million dollars would finally get her out of this life although stripping and sleeping with the clients helped her survive after leaving home at sixteen.  But she was confused as to why Forrest was choosing his son's wife and even more confused when Wilder tells her to run away as fast as she can.

I loved this book!  Audrey Rush has written another great book.  Maisie has been running for years from guilt.  Wilder has kept himself under control and made sure that nothing in life bothered him.  He had seen and done it all due to his family business and learned the hard way to never care.

In true form, Audrey has written another dark and twisted story.  No matter how sadistically Wilder treats Maisie she won't back down.  My heart broke for Wilder.  A child should never have had to live through what he had and a choice he had to make.

This story is Dexter-level scary and I highly recommend it!!!  If you haven't read Audrey Rush before I can't recommend her psychological romances enough!
