REVIEW - THE LADY OF THE MIRRORED LAKE by Jennifer Ivy Walker

Issylte, the Emerald Princess, was no longer safe on Avalon. Her stepmother, Queen Morag, the Black Widow Queen knows that she is alive and has her assassins trying to kill her for the second time. Queen Morag has killed everyone that Issylte has loved including her beloved father. She was able to escape when she was eight from Queen Morag's first attempt to get rid of the only thing standing in her way of having complete control of the throne of Ireland.

She was found and hidden by a fairy who taught her everything she knew about being a healer, but when she turned eighteen the Queen found out that Issylte was not dead and sent her soldiers for her. But the Fairy was warned and was able to have Issylte transported to Avalon before the soldiers arrived and killed the fairy and her family.

Viviane, the Lady of the Lake, welcomed her to Avalon where she further learned about herbs, crystals and the magic of the lake.  Viviane's son, Lancelot of the Lake and King Arthur's Champion and Knight of the Round Table, arrived with an injured Knight that he was hoping his mother could heal. Sir Tristan of Lyoneese, the Blue Knight of Cornwall, had slain Morholt, Queen Morag's most trusted guard. But before Tristan's sword cleaved through Morholt's skull the Viking was able to slice into Tristan with his poisoned sword.

Being from Ireland, Issylte was the only one familiar with the poison and saved Tristan's life gaining both Tristan and Lancelot's promise to build an army to help her defeat the evil Queen. The Black Widow Queen's seer has located Issylte and Avalon is no longer safe so Issylte, Tristan and Lancelot prepare for a journey to gather an army.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is book two of The Wild Rose and the Sea Raven trilogy, so if you haven't read book one you need to do so before reading this book to get the full depth of the story. And prepare yourself because these are not overnight reads.

This book begins where book one ends as Tristan and Lancelot take her to meet the Tribe of Dana and plan for the upcoming war against The Black Widow Queen and the dark wizard Lord Voldurk.

This book is action-packed, full of danger, suspense and smoking-hot sexual chemistry. If you love fantasy you will absolutely love this book that is full of Elven powers, mermaid/wolf/bear shifters, dwarfs, fairies, and other magical creatures.

Book one of this trilogy gives you the background of the story and Issylte's journey to find her champion. It leaves you with Issylte, Tristan and Lancelot leaving Avalon to gather all the knowledge, power and an army.  Book two takes you on their journey as they are gifted powers of protection and knowledge of how to defeat Lord Voldurk and the Black Widow Queen. With plans made and an army behind them this book leaves you with them heading to war.

I highly recommend this book!  I absolutely love the characters, the storyline is gripping and I can't wait to see the Black Widow Queen fall.
