Gaetano was grabbing something to eat at his brother Vincenzo's restaurant before heading to the hospital for a meeting with the Board of Directors. A high-pitched giggle catches his attention and when his eyes meet the woman's across the room he feels a zap that has him leaving immediately.
He didn't do relationships and especially not after Monica. They had met at Club Savage and after spending time in the dungeon and introducing her to his kink they signed a contract for her to be his play partner and he moved her into an apartment. Only to find out a few days later that she was a high-end hooker when he walked in on her with two men.
He learned two things that day. People are opportunists and to keep women an arm's length away. The memory of his father's words follows him out the door. Never let them see your heart, Tano, they will use it against you. And he had no doubt that the gorgeous brunette would do exactly that. And he planned to stay as far away from the gorgeous brunette as he could.
Gaby had always been indulged by her father and overruled her mother's punishments throughout her childhood which came in handy when her mother was against her going to medical school. But that all changed when her father told her he wanted to meet her between classes.
She listened to her father as he told her he had formed an alliance and that she would be getting married in a week. The last thing she wanted was to be used as mafia chattel and as she is listening to her father a plan hatches in the back of her mind.
I loved this book. It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is book two of the Mafia Brides series and can be read as a standalone. The series revolves around seven brothers and even though their stories all have their own HEA, I would suggest you read the series from book one to fully immerse yourself in the powerful men of the Vitale family.
Gaby thought she had escaped the mafia life when she fled in the middle of the night only to find out that her secret identity wasn't as secret as she thought and her life was in danger. Despite his brother Romeo being the feared head of the Vitale mafia family Gaetano chose another path and was the CEO and Head of Surgery at Mercy Hospital.
This book is action-packed from page one and full of danger and suspense. If you like mafia romance with a bit of kink you will love Gaby & Gaetano's story. It is smoking hot and has a few surprising twists. I can't wait for the next book in this series! Highly recommend!
