When Rose was nineteen she got an apprenticeship for the job of her dreams and she is now a tattoo artist. She is hoping that by the time she turns twenty with the additional funds from working at a local strip club, she can move out of her mother's house. Her mother disapproves of her tattoos among other things and never fails to point out her imperfections.
Her sixteen-year-old sister Rachel is the perfect daughter never getting into trouble and Rose is determined that she stays a teen as long as possible. Their father disappeared when they were younger and Rose has worked since she was sixteen to help her mom pay the bills, but she needs to get away from her mother's hurtful comments.
Her mother is now seeing a fabulous man and she doesn't know how Damian puts up with her mother. After them dating for close to a year they are finally meeting Damian's son for lunch. He is so proud of his son's success in business and can't wait to introduce them.
She is looking around the diner as they wait when she sees a familiar gorgeous, muscled tattooed man from the club she works at. She gets up from the table to escape to the restroom before she is seen, but she hears his sexy voice call out her name. Hoping he has left by the time she returns, she is horrified to see him sitting next to her vacant seat laughing with her mom.
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Rose just wants to be loved and accepted for who she is not who her mother wants to mold her to be. She is shocked that Reese who she has been fantasizing about for the last eight months is Damian's son...but it is his other secrets that are more surprising.
This book is action-packed, full of danger and suspense and smoking hot. There are major twists in this story along with a twisted ex. Highly recommend and can't wait to read more from this author.
