REVIEW - MASTER BOTOSONI by Sylvia Black

Master Botosoni is sipping on his scotch as he watches the graceful dancer on the stage. When she flips her hair over her shoulder giving him a wink he knew that word had traveled fast. Not that he hasn't always had money and power, but having just submitted plans for his massive new home everyone was coming out of the woodwork... especially money-hungry women.

All of the Masters are laying claim to all the land surrounding the Carpathian Mountain where all of their secrets have been held for centuries. Secrets the rogue vampires and shifters are trying to get their hands on. A war was coming and he and the other pureblood vampires are hoping this will be the one that finally took out their enemies.

Catina is sitting at the small cafe table sipping her cold coffee. So far the owners haven't kicked her out since she brings in customers as she meets with those wanting their fortunes told. As she is gathering up the courage to leave and walk home in the bitter cold she hears the rev of a powerful engine. There is only one person who can afford that car and another shiver runs down her spine only this one is in fear even as she watches the gorgeous vampire enter the cafe.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is the first book I have read in this series and even though the characters are recurring the book doesn't have to be read as a series although I do plan to read the preceding 8 books to get the other Master's individual stories.

Catina refused to travel with her family on their latest trip where they planned to find someone willing to marry her. They plan to sell her virginity to the highest bidder since her still unmarried at twenty-one is disgracing them. But she has plans. Plans that will take her away from her abusive family once and for all.

Master Botosoni returns to the cafe to find the beautiful woman who was leaving the night before. A woman who everyone vows that her visions will lead him to the enemy they are looking for.

This book is action-packed from beginning to end. I was really surprised that with all the extensive planning for a bloody war between the purebred vampires and the rogues and shifters, it wasn't a bloody violent book. I loved Botononi and Catina's story and all of the secondary characters. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.
