Bio:

Ever just gone for it?

That's what USA Today Bestselling Author Pepper North did in 2017 when she posted a book for sale on Amazon without telling anyone.

Thanks to her amazing fans, the support of the writing community, Mr. North, and a killer schedule, she has now written more than 70 books!

Enjoy contemporary, paranormal, dark, and erotic romances that are both sweet and steamy? Pepper will convert you into one of her loyal readers.

What's coming in the future? A Daddypalooza!

When and how did you know you wanted to be a writer?

I’m the un-author.  I never planned to write a book.  I read a story by Maren Smith and was hooked.

When I couldn’t find any others with the same depth and feel, I wrote one.  Without telling anyone, I formatted it, created a cover, and loaded it on Amazon.

To my amazement, it sold.

Did you have any influencing writers growing up?

I love to read.  I’ll read any genre except nonfiction.  Reading is my escape.

Are any of your characters based on people in real life?

I think a hint of people I know weaves its way into the characters in my books.  I haven’t ever deliberately patterned a character after anyone.

Where do you draw your book inspirations from?

I simply write and the story develops.  I try to pour my emotions into the characters’ journeys.

Do you use have a basic outline when starting a new story or do you let the characters lead the way?

I am simply the person recording the story.  The characters create their own paths.

When you are picturing the characters in your book, do you have a cheater photo for inspiration?

I usually picture them in my head.

Every once in a while I run across a photo and think, “He’s a perfect Daddy.”

Many people read as a form of escape and relaxation.  What is your favorite way to sit back and relax?

We built a house in Florida this year.  It is my haven.

I love to spend time at home with my husband and cat, Laney.

To relax, I love yoga.

Who are your favorite current authors to read?

Shelley Laurenston is one of my favorite authors.  Her shifter books are a pure escape.  I read everyone, depending on the genre that is calling me that day.

What are your favorite books by others?

Beast Behaving Badly is the book I read over and over.  I just love those characters.

Do the locations in the stories have any meaning to you?

No

Do you write in single or multiple POV?

Multiple POV.  I want the readers to have the entire picture.

What do you find to be your best research tool?

Please, no one check my google searches!

Do you write under a pen name?  Also, do you write under more than one name?

Pepper North is my pen name.  I seem to spend more time as Pepper than I do as myself!

What genre do you write and why is this your preference?

I write age play romances.  I love the dynamic between the Daddy, Mommy, and/or Little.  I consider it one of the ultimate levels of submission.

Tell me something about yourself outside of writing.  Jobs, accomplishments, family, quirky trait...what led to you being you?

I’m definitely a wordy!  My degrees are in French and Spanish.  I like talking to everyone!

What advice would you give to an aspiring writer?

Write, write, write.  You’ll improve your skills and live on the profits of your backlist.

How do you deal with and process negative book reviews?

I see if there’s something I need to improve or if it’s simply a person that didn’t care for my genre.

What is the most difficult part of your writing process?

Editing!  It’s so boring!

What do you need in your writer’s space to keep you focused?

Quiet

What is your naughty indulgence as you are writing?

I have a sweet tooth.  I often have candy at my desk.

If you could spend a day with another popular author, whom would you choose?  And why?

I’d love to chat with EL James.  Her books totally changed the attitude of the general public to erotic romance.

What is your schedule like when you are writing?  Do you have a favorite writing snack or drink?

I write every morning.  It’s the time I focus best.  I try to do something active in the afternoon.

Do you listen to music when you write – what kind of music is your favorite?

I prefer quiet to concentrate.

Have pets ever gotten in the way of your writing?

I have a cat, Laney.  By the afternoon, she’s tired of me writing and come to lay across my wrists on my desk.

What is your kryptonite as a writer?  What totally puts you off your game?

Disruptions kill my writing process.  I can write anywhere as long as I’m left alone.

Have you ever killed off a character that your readers loved?

No.

How do you celebrate after typing THE END?

I take a few hours off to relax and recharge.
