SINNERS WITH TILTED NIMBUS Series by K.R. Ruth

This series is about two high school boys falling for their high school obsessions.

Although these books can certainly be read as stand-alone novels the stories and characters are interrelated, and I would suggest that you read them in order.

Photog has just been released and is now available on Amazon!

What is the sub-genre and trope?  Did your characters lead you to this genre or was that decided before the story began?

Glower (Book1): Bully romance. Office romance.

Photog (Book2): two people who ties the knot willingly, but the universe interferes to separate them (HEA assured).

Are you more character or plot-driven?

Mostly plot driven.

With many main and secondary characters, how do you keep them separated in your mind?  Do you have a story/vision board above your workspace?

My main characters dominates 80% of the book narration.  So the remaining 20% is always easy to deal with.  I only bring in secondary characters that are important to the book.

I always have a character folder saved in my computer to remember their names and stuff about them.

I know from previous interviews that characters take on a life of their own.  Were any of the characters in this series determined to take their own direction instead of where you initially wanted them to go?

Since I am more plot driven that has never happened to me, except for characters shaping up a few scenes in the book.

Are any of the male POVs based on anyone you know?

Zach, the second book in the series Immortal Mackays is loosely based on my BF.  When I say loosely, a very, very diluted version of him.

Are any of the female POVs based on anyone you know?

None.

Was there any one character/scene that was harder to write about than the other?

Intimacy scenes are always hard to write.  I really don’t see as a character but as a book or books.

KAIN (book3 in the Immortal Mackays Series (Mafia Romance)) and PHOTOG (book2 in the Sinners with Tilted Nimbus Series), these two books were hard to write.  And PHOTOG takes the cake.

What is your favorite book in the series?

PHOTOG (book2 in the Sinners with Tilted Nimbus Series).  I am about to ask my family to bury it with me.

I know that we aren’t supposed to have “favorites” as far as our children, but seriously, who’s your favorite character and why?

Jake Vance was interesting to write.  I am not sure if I can write another arrogant prick like him with a heart of gold.  You can meet him in the book GLOWER.

Series question - Who is your favorite couple and why did you decide on their dynamics?

Rion Mackay and Gini Mackay (RION book 1 in the Immortal Mackay Series).  If I hadn’t written these two characters, I wouldn’t be here.

In this series: they are definitely Aiden Silver and Rébecca Emily Devall, these two are really different from what I used to write.

How do you get inside these character’s heads to find their perfect HEA?

This is what I see myself spending a lot of time, apart from plotting.  I reside inside their head day and night.  I want to get to know them well.

So I patiently wait until they bare their thoughts to me.  And that is also the reason my books are tortuously slow burn (I love building the tension between the main leads).  Which I believe gives them their perfect HEA.

What scene in this book/series sticks out the most for you?  Why?

Frankly speaking, everything is purely my imagination.

If I must say, the plots or a few incidents in the books are mostly based on true events, which I’ve read or heard from somewhere.  And because of that I had to heavily fictionalize it.

Series - Were any of the books harder to write than others?

PHOTOG was harder to write than KAIN.

How long did it take you to write this book/series?

Sinners with Tilted Nimbus Series – I guess, two and a half years.

PHOTOG alone took me a year and twenty-seven days to finish the first draft.

How did you come up with the title for your book and (if applicable) series?

PHOTOG was previously called SNAPPER.  But I changed the name while at 45% of writing the book.  No specific reason at all.  Suddenly I wanted to change it.

If you met these characters in real life would you get along?

Ha-ha.  OMG.  No, I wouldn’t.

Maybe a cup of coffee with the characters in the Sinners with Tilted Nimbus Series.

But not with the Mafia men crew in the Immortal Mackays Series.

Did you know in advance that you were going to write this as a series or did one of the characters in book one demand their own story?

GLOWER was initially a standalone release.  But Aiden and Becca (yes, the secondary characters in GLOWER) demanded to write their story.

Glad I listened to them.  And now they are the ones I am going to get buried with me.

If your book/series were made into a movie, which actors do you see as playing your characters?

This is really tough to answer because I don’t picture them in my head as actors at all.

But I can try for PHOTOG: Ryan Gosling and Scarlett Johansson.

Can you give us a hint as to what we can expect next?  Whether a new book and series or a sequel to an existing series?  Can you share a small tease?

The final book in the Immortal Mackays Series is next.

I took a break from the previous series to write this new one, which initially was a stand-alone and not a series.  But Aiden and Becca demanded to tell their story, and so a year break become a two-year break.  Now that I have completed this series, I will go back to my previous series to complete it.

As always, readers can expect some darkish things again.  So, yes, Lorcánn Trant’s book is coming in 2022.

Bio:

She lives in Pluto and lives with Pluto--do not confuse with Plato.  That's how you're WARNED: she can confuse the h*ll out of you.

Also, you can see her accounts almost on all the social platforms, posting nothing at all.  Because she's--anti-climatically--anti-social, but stubbornly refuses to believe that tragic factor.

You can't see her anywhere other than in her crate, tapping heavily on her phone and drinking gallons of caffeine to stay awake and sane.

And then she passes out, when humans are busy working, and finally, wakes up along with Zombies to rule the night.

Call me, dude, I'm always available.

“Break up with him!”

No, that’s not chapter one.

But those were the ever-first four words Jake Vance spoke to me when we were 18 years old.

Also, the following chapters weren’t just the encounters, but those had been my unnegotiable nightmares.

Then followed the middle chapters that had blank papers.

Silent.

Blissful.

Empty stage with muted music surrounding us.

Again, that didn’t last forever.

Because the most-unprepared chapters are waiting for me.

Jake Vance, the wrathful God and the anointed Devil, is carved from a glacier.

Punched you with his green eyes and smirked at you to swallow you whole.

Need I say more? Then hear me out.

He wants me, the way he wanted me back then, just to ruin me.

Thoughtlessly, fate made me come face-to-face with the Devil. And I’m in deep, deep trouble like the way inhaling my next breath could put me in danger.

Yes, Danger is his middle name.

And, oh-so hauntingly Divine drops to knees, surrendering before Danger.

Well…I’m trapped.

Also, I fear that there will not be a heart-smiling, floating-on-air epilogue but a heart-breaking, cliff-hanger ending.

 Becca

My life was filled with colors, patterns, and beautiful soul-stirring songs.

Then he barged into my life and swept me along with him.

Don’t ask me.

Yes, I resisted him right from the beginning.

But truthfully, I’m not that immune to him.

Besides, who doesn’t want a perfect life?

That’s why I’m on the verge of saying yes to his proposal, which I know he’s about to make soon.

And he did.

Shockingly, he hasn’t knelt in front of me on one knee with a breathtaking, picturesque background, but with the heart-stopping truth staring me in the eye.

Now I could no longer see the burst of colors, only thick clouds hovering above me, the gray scales coupled with haunting music.

But, God, help me!

I cannot say no to this world-class renowned photographer. And I also cannot stop him from chasing what he’s been chasing his entire career.

I just wish that there is no Aiden Silver in the first place.

Am I stupid to say that?

No. You will wish the same once you know my story with the husband-to-be.

Oh, only he doesn’t know that I bleed the same way as he does.
