REVIEW - THE DEVIL I DON'T KNOW by LK Shaw

Brenna was told two weeks ago that she would be married as soon as Emilio Ricci returned to Brooklyn.  Emilio was returning to Brooklyn to take his place as the head of the Brooklyn syndicate as he father was dying from cancer.

The Irish and Italian mobs were forming a familial alliance to have a stronger stand against the Russians who were trying to take over.

Brenna's face shoots with pain as her grand-da's hand slaps her at her hesitation at signing her certificate of marriage.  Her new husband charges him and warns what will happen if he ever lays a hand on her again.

Emilio 'Jacob' was returning to New York after leaving seven years ago.  He knew the day would arrive for him to take his place as the head of the Brooklyn Kings and he was more than prepared to take down the Russians as he had a score to settle.

I loved this book!  It is very well written and the characters are full developed!  This is mafia at it's best.  I love Brenna and Jacob's story.  Brenna has been sheltered from the reality of  her family's business and finds out the hard way what is expected of her when she is forced into an arranged marriage by her grandfather.  But, Brenna is determined to no longer have things kept from her.

This book is action-packed and steamy hot.  There are some triggering moments, but nothing you wouldn't expect in a mafia romance.  Highly recommend this book and LK Shaw!
